本片由金馬影帝李修賢自導自演，是一部80年代初「烈火戰車」式的賽車片。故事描述跛足之摩托車行東主師傅才（李修賢），對學徒阿昌（麥德羅）甚為賞識，更在每年一度的澳門賽車，助昌奪標。後知師傅才曾是東南亞十大車手之一，因一次賽車意外受傷導致殘廢。師傅才聞悉昌參與非法賽車，忙予規勸，然昌因盛名所累，欲罷不能……。讲述了中学语文教师盖琨有真才实学，也自命不凡。一直觉得自己在学校里没有得到重用，怀才不遇。职称评定时他跳级申报却被学校驳回，即丢了面子有没得到一点实际好处，尤其被家里的市侩老婆折磨的苦不堪言。家里经济拮据，又顾全面子不愿从家教的学生身上多收费用，于是盖琨和妻子的矛盾不断发生。。Adapted by Virginie Verrier and Brigitte Tanguy from the biography Ne jamais rien lâcher, the script traces the career of Marinette Pichon over three decades.
