故事发生在军阀割据的二十世纪二十年代。为了破获首富郭老爷家丢失的古籍《二十四孝》的案子，江南某县城警察局警探陈九斤联合郭家大公子郭盖、线人万小宝等人，抽丝剥茧，循着《二十四孝》的线索，寻找到当年受嘉奖的二十四位孝子后人，积齐二十四块孝子牌后，终于找到了郭居敬等人所藏、用于弘扬中华孝道之宝藏。故事以寻宝人的亲情、爱情为主线，穿插《二十四孝》原文故事，配合二十四位孝子后人的人生际遇来警示世人，阐释了孝乃立人之本这个道理。。While on a hunting trip in the isolated wilderness, a father and his adopted teenage son are turned into the prey of unknown assailants. They are unexpectedly joined in their fight for survival by a stranger who reveals the disturbing truth about the son's biological father, an international crime lord, and why that crime lord has sent trained assassins to kill the teenager.。
