Griffith would revisit his epic film three years later by releasing two of the film's interlocking stories as standalone features, with some new additional footage. The first of the two was 'The Fall of Babylon', which depicts the conflict between Prince Belshazzar of Babylon and Cyrus the Great of Persia.。未来有望成为首相的政治家·夏目恭辅(小栗饰)遭遇绑架事件，搜查1课的精英刑警·户隐九十九(中山饰)和冲劲十足的所辖女警官·安藤花惠(川荣饰)一起携手开始追查名人连续失踪案件之谜……。起初，太白金星在人间土地公的帮助下，先是参照天干地支、二十四山方位的说法，在人间选出了二十四种对人类有意义的动物作为人类的生肖，却没想到由于评判机制的模糊，被一些动物浑水摸鱼的混入其中。成为生肖之后，不仅不曾为百姓造福，甚至在人间为非作歹、引发了祸乱。于是玉帝只好再次命太白金星下凡平乱。最终，太白金星在土地公、被贬下凡的天蓬以及太上老君等人的帮助下，成功帮人间平定了生肖祸乱，揪出了二十四生肖中的‘害群之马’。天庭也采纳了大家的建议，结合人间寿命长短的实际，将二十四肖缩减为了十二生肖，让百姓按照自己的喜好投票选举。自此，人间用于记年的十二生肖正式诞生了。。
