不遠的未來，美國新聯邦的女總統（薇薇卡福克斯飾）和國防部長（丹尼爾鮑德溫飾）雇用了一群軍事傭兵，試圖從位於地球軌道上的機密研究設施中，奪取一項神秘的外星生化武器。。老奎（陈强 饰）和儿子二子（陈佩斯 饰）在深圳闯荡一番后，回到了北京。见多识广的父子俩决定在北京创业，老奎倾尽积蓄开办了一家卡拉OK厅，并请来他们在车站结识的来京闯荡的小歌手小依（傅艺伟 饰）。卡拉OK厅生意火爆，父子俩渐渐有了钱。二子爱上了小依，小依一方面和二子约会，一方面又傍着老奎给她买这买那，另一方面又和另外一个台湾大款纠葛不清，周旋在三个男人中间……。Sebastian pays tribute to a previous girlfriend, trying to produce the movie that she inspired him to write.
