CBS早前预订《X档案 The X-Files》制片人Frank Spotnitz的剧集《赎回 Ransom》，由在《黑帆 Black meijubar.net Sails》饰演Woodes Rogers的Luke Roberts主演。该剧自14年开始开发，与法国﹑德国及加拿大合作拍摄。而现在有Sarah Greene﹑Brandon Jay McLaren﹑Nazneen Contractor加盟该剧该剧是根据有丰富经验的危机谈判专家Laurent Combalbert及Marwan Mery的经历得到灵感；预订了13集的新剧《赎回》，讲述危机及人质谈判专家Eric Beaumont（Luke Roberts饰），他十分了解罪犯的行径，能洞悉人类行为的他从各种困难的绑架﹑勒索案件中找到解决办法。尽管是危险的赌博，但他决心即使面对世界上各危险罪犯时...。Roberto, a drummer in a rock band, keeps receiving weird phone calls and being followed by a mysterious man. One night he manages to catch up with his persecutor and tries to get him to talk but in the ensuing struggle he accidentally stabs him. He runs away, but he understands his troubles have just begun when the following day he receives an envelope with photos of him killing the man.
