故事讲述了大明奇才解缙，以其超人的才华和胆识，幽默而机智地为众多忠臣义士解脱困危，为广大黎民百姓伸张正义，为昏君佞臣设置障碍，为江山社稷消祸除灾。。故事发生在1932年的日本，年轻的灯塔员有泽四郎（佐田启二饰）带着刚刚成婚的妻子清子（高峰秀子饰）来到了位于东京湾的观音崎灯塔赴任。之后，清子为丈夫生下了两个孩子雪野（有泽正子饰）和光太郎（中村嘉葎雄饰）。灯塔守塔员的日子非常的清贫和枯燥，但是四郎和家人们在一起，还是感到十分的幸福。 1937年，四郎一家人转移到了一座荒岛上，驻守在那里的女岛灯塔中，随着时间的推移，夫妻两人之间的争吵越来越多，感情出现了裂痕。之后，四郎一路从一名小小的守塔员，最终攀登到了职业的顶峰——灯塔长，在此过程中，他收获了很多，但是也失去了更多。。One day, thinking that it will make your wife and friends smile, you shave off the moustache that you have had for the last ten years. Viewers who like their conclusions tidy may rebel, but those who relish outstanding performances in the service of an intriguing idea will be entertained.
